St. Vincent Charity Hospital opens $6.9 million Emergency Department
Special Events , St. Vincent Charity Medical Center Add commentsCLEVELAND — July 20, 2009 — St. Vincent Charity Hospital announces the grand opening of its newly renovated Emergency Department. A public blessing and reception will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 23 on the hospital’s front lawn. The Most Reverend Bishop Richard G. Lennon will lead the blessing ceremony.
The opening of the final phase concludes the $6,879,000 two-year renewal and reconstruction of both the medical emergency department and the psychiatric emergency department at St. Vincent Charity Hospital. Thanks to the generous support of donors, the Emergency Department was expanded by 24,000 square feet and was modernized to reflect expectations for care today and to provide a respectful healing environment, faithful to the hospital’s mission of faith-based care.
Private exam rooms that allow for better communication between medical staff and patients, faster treatment times as well as the inclusion of families and loved ones in support of that healing process. The newly renovated space also allows for better use of technology and equipment, including an electronic patient tracking system and trauma rooms that allow for critical care of patients.
St. Vincent Charity Hospital serves as Cleveland’s Downtown hospital, serving the businesses and residents of downtown Cleveland and well as the residents of Central, Kinsman and Mt. Pleasant neighborhoods.
