The Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina has awarded 10 responsive grants totaling $467,937 to nonprofit and faith-based organizations across South Carolina.
Responsive grants are designed to address the root causes of poverty using strategic methods that allow the foundation to work closely with grantees and develop collaborative relationships by selectively offering focused technical assistance and more intentional monitoring through site visits. Responsive grants are awarded once a year.
“We believe in these organizations and the work they are committed to every day to address poverty in South Carolina,” said Yvonne Orr, board chair of the foundation. “It is our hope that this funding will help strengthen these organizations, their programs and services as they serve those in need.”
Organizations wishing to apply for funding should visit the foundation’s website, sistersofcharitysc.com, for information on the application process. The next grant application deadline is the first Tuesday in November.
