Cleveland, OH, July16, 2009 – St. Vincent Charity Hospital today announced it has been recognized by the Premier healthcare alliance as a winner of the Premier Award for Quality (AFQ). St. Vincent Charity Hospital is one of 23 winners out of more than 3,796 eligible hospitals nationwide.

SCHS hopeful about 2010 federal appropriations requests

We learned this week that some of our 2010 federal appropriations requests have moved another step forward. We're grateful to the support of our federal elected officials in Ohio and South Carolina. Here's what we know about recent House Labor-Health and Human Services Committee action:

Rep. Marcia Fudge has moved forward $500,000 for St. Vincent Charity Hospital for information systems.

Rep. Dennis Kucinich has moved forward $300,000 for St. John West Shore Hospital for information systems.

Rep. John Spratt and Rep. James Clyburn moved forward $110,000 for Healthy Learners Midlands.

And Commerce-Justice-Science also recently included $265,000 for South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families for Alternative to Incarceration from Mr. Spratt.

 

 

St. Vincent Charity Hospital opens $6.9 million Emergency Department

CLEVELAND — July 20, 2009 — St. Vincent Charity Hospital announces the grand opening of its newly renovated Emergency Department. A public blessing and reception will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 23 on the hospital’s front lawn. The Most Reverend Bishop Richard G. Lennon will lead the blessing ceremony.

Mercy Opens Newly Renovated Pain Management Facility

Canton, Ohio: On Tues., July 28, Mercy Medical Center will hold a blessing ceremony and open house for newly renovated Mercy Pain Management, located on the second floor of Mercy Surgery Center. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. with an open house immediately following until 1 p.m. Mercy employees, physicians, volunteers and visitors are invited to attend.
