The Sisters of Charity Foundation of Cleveland is committed to a more in-depth approach to reducing disparities in health and education in the Central Neighborhood near downtown Cleveland. Residents of this community, like so many in our region, experience poor outcomes in education and health which make it much harder for residents to move out of poverty.

St. Vincent Charity Hospital is using medical home model to improve access to health care. The medical home model housed within the Health Clinic has begun to address the issue for those patients whose first contact with health care is typically the emergency department. Diverting patients from the emergency room is the focus of a county-wide effort in Cleveland.

Sister Mary Elizabeth Noel is marking not one but two major milestones in her life this year. Fellow Dominican nun Sister Theresa Damicone said Sister Noel celebrated 75 years of religious life on May 3 and her 100th birthday Tuesday.
