Eighteen abstracts have been selected for break-out sessions at the inaugural Ohio Health Literacy Conference being held October 12-13 at the Renaissance Hotel in Cleveland.
The goal of the Ohio Health Literacy Conference is to increase health literacy awareness; share resources to improve health literacy and ultimately, health outcomes; and provide tools to increase health literacy capacity at the local, regional, and state levels. The keynote speaker will be Richard H. Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the United States.

Bids are now being accepted for the online auction for the 5th annual Destination Ohio, a fund-raising event for the Early Childhood Resource Center. A live auction will take place on June 23 at The Canton Club, located at 101 Central Plaza South in Canton, Ohio.
Destination Ohio’s mission is to promote state tourism and local businesses while raising money to support programs and services at the Early Childhood Resource Center.

In the spirit of Nashville and its famous Bluebird Café, local musicians will share their songs and the stories behind them on June 30 at “Songwriters in the Round,” an annual benefit for Healthy Learners.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at Litchfield by the Sea Beach Clubhouse, located at 780 Retreat Beach Circle, in Pawleys Island, S.C. The concert will feature acoustic performances by Sarah Majors, Megan Mullins, Shawn Camp and Phillip Lammonds.
Tickets are $125 and available online. Each ticket includes specially-prepared hors d'oeuvres by the well known "Chive Blossom" restaurant in Pawleys Island, an open bar, and one seat for the show. Seating is limited and reserved.
