Irene Fitzgerald, RN, BSN, is the recipient of a Crain’s Cleveland Business 2011 Hero Award for her work in nursing. Nominated by her peers and selected by an independent panel of judges, she received her award during a luncheon this month.
Fitzgerald is clinical manager at Holy Family Hospice, which is a member of Catholic Community Connection.
Catholic Community Connection will hold their annual symposium September 16 at the Center for Pastoral Leadership in Wickliffe, Ohio. This year’s topic is “Collaboration in Catholic Education, Health, Human Services and Senior Living.” Serving as the keynote speaker, Father Fred Kammer, SJ is a priest, an attorney and a member of the Southern Provence of the Jesuits. Fr. Fred has worked in a number of programs for poor and vulnerable persons, both as a lay volunteer, an attorney, an advocate, and an administrator.
